Web Design & Brand Refresh
Before you run to your next session, hear me out.
Checking the therapist directories for new inquiries or responding to another Facebook group post is just another task to add to your list. You already have a lot to do. Let’s not waste your time and energy when you could be using your expertise where it really lies: with your clients.
Your website, a.k.a. your digital therapy office, is often the first place a future client “meets” you. Remember the times you’ve searched for a therapist for yourself? It can be such a frustrating process to find someone that you connect with or that feels right.
Instead of interrupting your busy days to do a million phone calls with potential therapists, just to find that you’re not thrilled with most of them, wouldn’t it have been nice to shorten the process?
Wouldn’t it have been nice to click into a therapist’s website, easily find what you need, and really get a feel for their personality? You could have narrowed down your list and gotten connected with your “right fit” sooner.
Why not make the process easier for your own prospective clients?
Okay, jump back into your therapist chair, please…
You want to work with your ideal clients. They want to find their “best fit” therapist. Your website is like the matchmaker… for therapy! I guess that makes me your hair stylist / makeup artist / wardrobe stylist…or something? That’s probably enough of this metaphor. Anyway…
With a strong website, visitors can start getting to know you before you ever speak to them. They get to decide whether or not to take the next step… and once they do, they’ve already started to trust you. When you present your digital therapy office with authenticity and clarity, you take away unnecessary barriers for your dream clients to find you.
Okay, let’s get into the nitty gritty —
The Process:
1 Discovery Phase
This is where we’ll get to know each other! I’ll learn about your website needs and vision. Based on our conversation, I’ll share a proposal detailing the design process, timeline, and other details. Once the proposal is signed and invoice is paid, we move to the next phase!
2 Content Phase
~2-4 weeks prior to Design Date
This phase has the bulk of your work! I’ll share instructions for you to complete a design questionnaire, write copy for each page of your website, and collect photos. You’ll work on these tasks until our Design Date, which is the due date for your content and when I will start putting your website together!
Once you’ve completed the design questionnaire, I’ll create and share two design directions for you to choose from. This helps me establish your brand refresh and prepare for the website design. As the Design Date approaches, I’ll check in with you about content progress and any questions you have.
Side note… if copywriting scares you, you’re not alone. Read my FAQ answer about it!
3 Design Phase
This is where you can take a breather and get excited about your website! The first day of this phase is the Design Date! I’ll jump into designing each page and inserting the content you provided. We’ll meet once to review the site and talk about any revisions you’d like. I’ll do a final check for functionality and design.
4 Final Phase
We’ll meet for our final call, during which I’ll walk you through the website, answer any questions, and teach you the basics of Squarespace. I’ll also show you where to find your video tutorials, brand details, and tips for after the launch. After our call, you’ll make the final payment, I’ll make the site live and I’ll transfer site ownership to you! This is the time to CELEBRATE!
One quick note…
The following should be identified before reaching out for website design:
your business services, service pricing, ideal client/target audience, what you need your website to do for you (scheduling, communicate your services, accept payments, etc.). If you need help or have questions, let me know!
